Consisting of different types of chairs covered in Henri Matisse paintings and cut outs, ‘The Matisse Collection’ reflects the reduction of Matisse paintings to décor. Resembling images from a sales catalogue the work hints at the relationship between the consumer and art whilst (humorously) reflecting Matisse’s view that “Art should be something like a good armchair in which to rest from physical fatigue”.
We produced five bespoke clamshell boxes for artist Keith Turner whose works (re)construct imaginary spaces using models, plans, magazine covers miniature dioramas and computer-generated virtual interiors. You can see more of Keith's work at www.keithturner.co.uk
